Just completed – the manuscript for my new novel, MIDNIGHT TRAIN TO ANYWHERE (Thriller)
MIDNIGHT TRAIN TO ANYWHERE (70,081 words) is a captivating thriller about an extraordinary boy set against nefarious adults. A heartbreaking story of friendship between two lost souls, it’s where The Institute collides with Camino Winds.
When Harper Meyer’s husband tells her he wants a divorce, she has decisions to make. She goes for drinks with her best friend to discuss her future and after a few too many, they decide to hop a midnight train to anywhere.
Early the following morning, eleven-year-old Will climbs into the same boxcar as the women. The frantic boy tells a wild story about being on the run from the men who killed his father, whose company was about to release new technology that would reduce the energy needed for the cryptocurrency and AI industries by almost twenty-five percent. But an energy company that just spent millions on buying up defunct coal-powered plants would lose a fortune. Now they’re after Will for the password to the off-site security system’s video of the murder. Harper believes Will and tells him she’ll keep him safe and help him get to the police.
Over the next two days, a hell storm unfolds as they are stalked by the killers and lost in the middle of the Everglades with a hurricane raging around them. They fight for their lives and against all possible odds, persevere and survive. But then the unthinkable happens.

Completed – the manuscript for my novel, PENANCE (Mystery)
What do you do when you’re down on your luck, working two jobs, and find a computer bag with documents of an investment opportunity?
Justin Sanders—maintenance man by day, bartender at night—lives on a barrier island off the coast of South Carolina, trying to make sense of his life. He had spent time in jail, which cost him his career, his marriage, and his daughters. Justin, former Air Force and airline captain, finds the computer bag, reads through the documents, and meets with a group of stockbrokers. They tell him the documents are evidence of insider-trading and must be turned over to the SEC. One of the brokers is an incredible woman who invites him to lunch. They share a connection, both immediate and compelling, and spend the next few days together.
The mastermind behind the illegal plan learns what Justin has done, and he knows he’ll go to prison if the documents get to the SEC. He sends his experts to eliminate the evidence and kill everyone Justin has talked with. But Justin and his new girlfriend seem to be in the right place at the right time to avoid the hitman … until they aren’t.
PENANCE (76,500 words) is a captivating mystery but also a heartbreaking love story with a stunning ending. It’s where Sheelah Kolhatkar’s Black Edge about insider-traders collides with Laura Dave’s The Last Thing He Told Me.
